Goes away after a while, at least every time I get it done. Window cracked open for a while or try to hide it with Febreeze or something.

Welcome, post pics.

Thanks for the reply, yeah i been doing that and getting my dad to take it for drives. Its alot stronger then when my dad or brother has gone to crown! At the dealer do they use something different? Im thinking they put it in the doors. I almost want to just take it back cuz its that bad been an awful first time experience buying my first new vehicle!

Every Ford dealer may vary with what they use, don't know about that, depends on what they sprayed.

If its that heavy black tar like shit, than I get what you mean about the smell.

Krown and Rust Check do drill into panels, doors etc, thats how they protect the door seams and such from the inside.

Cheap insurance to protect from rust IMO, and the smell is usually gone in a couple of days.

So when you say you want to take it back, what are you thinking they can do for you?

Congrats on the first new vehicle by the way, I still remember mine.

There was 2 things they did to it. One was called rust inhibitor spray and one was rust proofing sound shield. By saying i want to take it back to dealer i mean its been a week today and its still smells luke a oil rag in the cab of the truck! I cant drive it, eveybody i know cant even get in the truck cuz of the smell its that strong! Its no good to me the way it is so im thinking of taking it back to the the dealer and dropping it off! Im more then stessed out about it

Well there you go....drop it off at the dealer, ask the Service Manager to get in with the windows up and ask him if this seems normal in his opinion.

Good enough place to start, no point in being confrontational, just ask if thats what the customers who opt for this service typically smell after a week.

My dad took it back and they are going to try and get the smell out, the top dog did day he could smell something when the door was opened so they know and they know it wasnt like that when i took it for a test drive. They will have to buy it back unfortunally if they cannot get the smell out that simple. Too bad though! Lesson learned i wont be getting that done again! Thanks btw for replying i know something isnt right, my dad has gone to crown to get all our vehicles done over the years and yes they smell a bit for 5-6 days then its completly gone. With this truck you cant smell much on the outside its all inside the truck?

Nice, glad you got the problem fixed, can honestly say thats the first time I've ever heard of a dealer buying back a truck because they applied the rust proofing incorrectly.

No sure how they did that , but glad it worked out for you.

Are they going to give you a new truck ?
