Let's see what we all think is meant for a truck OR you might as well scrap it for putting that on...You don't have to have it, just love it or hate it.

Hate it::signs081:

Aftermarket Spoilers
truck nuts
hitch lights
Flames
Big Lift w/stock tires
spinners
crappy exhausts(pop can...lol)

Love it::sign0011:
Performance tuner
Turbo's
Tires/wheels
suspension
lights
electrical system
Sound system
Too many to list those are my first pick's.

Every mod done by the owner is useful to him
Some of them do tires and rims, some lifts (don't forget not all the lifts are designed for true off-roading) and some drop it to the ground, Personally I like them all, because they are trucks.
The Subject of this thread is :
Mods: Tacky or Awesome

Everyone has an opinion
We may not like it, but I think we should respect it

Ok I have to stick up for Flames I have flames on my lawn mower.
truck Nuts are funny
33inch tires should always be tucked in
lifted trucks look cool lowed trucks look even better
leveling kits should be a mandatory thing from the factory
guys that add 1 inch offset to rims to make em stick out should be fined if they run the stock width of tire
If the tires stick out it should be because they are wide as hell
Bushwacker flares with stock wheels and lift (huge Hate but so common)
Chev power in a ford EWWW
any truck that cant do a smoke show needs more power
guys with Nitrous systems that only purge (there are guys with only purge and strobe kits hooked up

UNDER GLOW LIGHTS HATE!!!!

swapping out for ovals for peterbilt is just tacky

24" rims or bigger on a 4x4 is just stupid

... as well as neon lights...

... and the $30 Vibrant exhaust from Canadian Tire on 4cyl imports...
... and "euro" lights...
... and APC...
... guys with big shiney trucks on 35" boggers...when you KNOW theyll never see gravel, let alone dirt...
... carbon fibre's lame...

but i gotta love solid axle swaps...
... and deep dish rims on european imports...(former VW guy)
... FRONT DRIVE SHAFTS!!!!...
... flat fenders on jeeps... i dont know why...
... ARB winch bumpers, they should make a ranger one...
... anything thats actually funtional...
(including the tongue ring on the blonde)

edit: forgot one HATE!!! anything (windshield banners, novelty lisence plates etc. that say GET-R-DONE!!!

...and gangster leans with sideways hats...turn the hat forwards before i turn yer head sideways...

Buzzy your truck is an acception to the flames it looks good with the purple, and your truck actually goes fast, I hate it when you have just the average joe truck or car with a crapy ass flame job and think's he's cool ridin' around strutin'dirty

I can see were SKRWZ is coming from, I take care of my truck as much as possible I dont really beat on it, but I don't baby it either she's got a few nicks and scraches, FAAAAAAAR from a city driver though, bushpig all the way. I shake my head when I see a buddy fly at a mud hole full of rocks and crap going real fast then they wonder why thier truck is always broken.

Not saying there is anything wrong with lifted trucks or running big mudder or off-road tires IF your doing some off-roading but if your not why would you want the even worse fuel milage "as if a stock 5.4 aint bad enough already" and oh so smooth ride that those big 35+ inch choppers bring as a daily comuter on dry pavement?
To each his own I guess...

Dude have you ever been in a lifted truck with these so called choppy rides. Because i have and it rode as smooth or smoother than my stock truck. You have obviously been misinformed. As for the mileage once you get it geared properly its not that bad. If you buy cheap a$$ parts and a cheap lift. Well i can see this causing this choppy ride condition you talked about.

A buddy of mine is a Mod on here and his truck is lifted and he runs 35's on it also. His truck rides real nice! I was quite surprised at how smooth it was. It blew me away.
Hes got a real nice lift and some nice Bilstein 5100 shocks and she runs slicker than pup chit and as smooth as a stock truck.
Hes got it geared nice and has loads of power right through the whole power band and pulls like you would not believe.

And I am sure your buddy does some off roading with it right???

My whole point from the get go was I think its stupid to waste all this money on lifts, gears, suspension, tires ect... if your not ever takeing the thing

"OFF ROAD"

If off roading is your passion and you do it please by all means sink your money into the best parts money can buy for your truck but it doesn't make sense to me to do all this to your truck just to have it as a daily comuter in bumper to bumper traffic on the HWY everyday.

Some peeps just like the look of a lifted truck! More aggressive looking than a stock truck. Im sure there are things on your truck only because you like the look of it and others would think your nuts to buy it as it was a waist of money in there opinion! Same goes for lifts!
But to say its a waist of money if your not going to go "OFF ROADING" is ridicules. Lots of peeps spend all kinds of money on engine mods for more power and speed but they never use all that power and speed! In fact i bet you done some your self or did something just for the look! I bet you dont think thats a waist of money?

I have changed a couple minor cosmetic things on my truck but nothing that takes away from its fuctionality and what its used for which is a daily driver around the city and towing my boat up to the cottage in the summer.
Spending thousands just to have a "wanna-be" look and not getting the fuctionality out of the equipment your paying for is a waste of money, its like haveing a $10,000 high definition plasma tv without a HD reciever to enjoy the clarity of the picture and what its ment for.
If you can't understand that we will just have to agree to dis-agree as I am so done debateing this on a message board.

Guy's running lifted trucks on huge off road tires just to go grocery shopping on the weekend and comuteing into the city for work = Wanna-Be Tacky and a waste of good money and parts.

Guy's running lifted trucks on huge off road tires that are actually getting use out of there trucks at some point off roading = Awsome because they are enjoying there passion the parts and there money spent.

Have a good one...
