Stock dash kit must go!!!!!!!

Has anybody ever taken off the stock dash kit’s from their truck?

I have a small corner peeling off on the driver’s door arm rest and I can see what looks like yellowish glue. Can I take all the fake wood (I think it’s vinyl) off around the radio and doors and get it looking all grey like the rest of my dash no glue residue or discoloration???? Or am I better off finding a better looking custom dash kit(I don’t really want anything on the dash)

Dash kits in either simulated wood, carbon fibre etc would go right over top and if you go with a brand like http://www.sherwooddash.com/ they look factory
