Hey there,

FORD will only pay for the repairs if your truck is covered by the factory warranty and if the condition the TSB repairs actually is effecting your truck. You may be eligible for after warranty assistance where the cost of the repair is split between you, FORD, and the dealer if within the program's distance and mileage limits. Sometimes there are ONP's or owner notification programs which are basicly extended warranty for certain items also with distance and mileage limitations. I hope this answered your question.

I thought that if the recall is for a safety issue i.e you could die or the truck could be severly damaged, that there was no time limit on the recall, that they would fix it even if the truck is out of warranty?

Safety recalls rarely have time and or distance limitations and the manufacturer will pay for the repair and damage done to the vehicle.
