Shaker Hood?

Well Im trying to decide whats left that i wanna do on my truck and this is one of the things ive thought about for a while. Originally i thought about a supercharger which ruled this out, but ive pretty much decided to purchase a project car to do that kinda stuff on. The only thing that makes me curious about this is the fact that i live where there is snow and rain and everything. And dont want to suck in a snowball and kill the motor. Otherwise i think it would look awesome and give a great effect since it is a true shaker scoop. What do you guys think?

i have a shaker hood on my dakota, which is for sale....... anyway, the scoop is designed to prevent snow and water from making it too the air filter, the filter is housed inside the scoop itself. This is the second winter i've driven it, no problems, i was considering getting a kit i saw on the svt website for my lightning.
