well I understand why they are making such a small diesel engine with the price of fuel theses days. But I'd want to see more specs on this motor before i make a decision about it

3.6 has
270hp and 472 ft/lb of torque
4.4 should have
300 to 320hp and 490 to 550 ft/lb of torque
How is that for baby V8

I've been keeping an eye on this, I really want a diesel, I just don't need a truck bigger then what I plan on buying one as soon as they hit the dealers.

My dealer said 2009, but 2010 works better for me my lease is up then.

I don't believe Ford is last on this one. I think Ford is leading the way by putting a diesel in a light duty truck.

This is correct Ford started the entire thing
Now Dodge to introduce Diesel in ram trucks in 2010
and GM one year behind them

Right I know that but usally they are they run ther models too long and usally take too long to do any changes and usally only change when they are forced to at least that's what it look like to me, and most likely the only reason there want a Diesil in the F 150 before is they probaly were scared it was going to take away from the F 250 sales but I still say It's about time and It's too long awaited

Agreed, but don't forget the F150 is Ford's bread and butter. The last thing they want to do is anything that could even remotely hurt sales. The timing is right to introduce a diesel with the price of gas getting so high. The idea of putting $30 worth of diesel in the tank and driving 2 weeks on it is very appealing. Compare that with the $60-$80 I'm spending on gas to drive the same distance and it's easy to see why the market is moving in that direction.
