No i never took it through any water or offroad at all. I've heard that explorer's were
bad on wheel bearings.

me personally, i havent owned a SUV, but my parents used to have a 2000 navigator, what a nice piece of machinary that thing was, and the DOHC 5.4 engine was so smooth. I was so sad when they got rid of it:cry2:

But It's still an import :mockery-035:

In a previous post I said I had a 1998 Explorer 4x4 and sold it to one of my cousins!! I am got it back for the winter, so I wouldn't have to drive my truck during the winter. The reason I got the use of it is because she is the sister of the cousin that passed away a few months ago, she got the truck he had!!!

Built in Kansas, by that logic my Mexican Fusion isn't a cheap import either.

I had a 98' Land Rover Discovery, I realize its not a Ford but Ford owns LR so I thought I'd mention it ;) Unfortunately/Fortunately I crushed an Elk with it back in June and it was a write off. Then I stumbled across a certain 07 Supercab Lariat and well the rest they say is history.

here's a shot of her in her prime.

I had a 1997 Exploer sport last year, and they suck.. The sort wheel base made it the worse on bush roads and even worse on snow.. If you feel like having your ass end whip around you at any given time then the exploer is for you, lol

I drive a '97 Explorer XL 2WD 5-speed and love it.
SUVs get a bad rap for poor milage, but mine gets 32MPG @ 85km/h
with just a few mods.
As soon as I get enough money, I'm going to pull it off the road and make it into a 2 door panel delivery.

Check out the pics at the cardomain link below.

Just bought an 03 Excursion 6.0 Diesel. Limited Edition. Installed and Air Raid intake and Magnaflow 4 inch Turbo back exhaust. Oasis report shows it as one of the few that has had very little repairs. Going to stay away from a tuner just yet until I do some more research on the engine. Has lots of power right now. Had the Exhaust installed today and now I can hear the Turbo spool up when I pull away from the curb.. Pretty cool. Have other plans for it.Winch,Brushguard, lights etc.

2006 Escape Limited 4WD V6...got this little truck by trading in an 05 Mustang GT. Yes, I know I know, that's blasphemy, but I had to get a vehicle that was safer and roomier to transport my soon-2-be born daughter at the time. With A/T A/S Bridgestone Dueler Revo's, it's had ZERO issues getting around in the heavy snow in the Ottawa area, and it's steering and handling are still pretty decent for what it is. I chose it because it's interior payload was actually bigger than the Edge, that it was loaded (black leathers, power everything, towing package, MACH 300 stereo with sub, etc), and that it gets decent fuel economy on the highway.

Wish it had more horsepower and got better fuel economy (the Mustang's V8 actually destroyed this truck in economy), and that I could find proper aftermarket HID headlights (elipsoid projector beam headlights, not ebay junk).

I like it a lot, and this, with the other 3 Fords I've owned before, will influence me to buy more Fords or other domestics in the future...

This is what my wife drives. We've had This 02' Escape since jan of 03. I decided that if was ganna keep it...lets beat it some more... Lifted, tires lights and some othe things done recent like with hopes to do more. My daily driver is an 07 ford focus. I have my eye on a 1992 Ford F150 4X4 ext lng box XLT like the one I had 14 years ago (89 2WD F150)...I might be toying that up as well shortly.

2000 Ford Explorer 4.0L SOHC, 284,000K, motor great, transmission good, Control-Trac 4x4 excellent, front hubs both replaced last year, original battery replaced last fall, new serpentine belt last fall, 12.4L per 100 km, doesn't use any oil, interior in good cond, Eddie Bauer model with power everything. Has Class II Curt trailer hitch and will stop a lot of load. Owned for 3 years now, love this vehicle, especially in winter, but want it in a diesel like our Ford F250 3/4T diesel.
