Hey all,

First off it's great to see a Canadian ford site and a dealer that actually listens to the problems on here!

Anyway. I'm leasing an 07 Trac which my wife loves. Other then the Trans issues which seem to have been resolved I'd like to buy it when the lease is up next year. My only worry is the spark plugs. Being that the 4.6 in the explorer is 3V like the 5.4 does it suffer from the same problem? If so I'm thinking I should take it in for a plug change just before the warranty is up so It won't cost extra! I can't wait for ford to solve this problem so I can trade my ranger for a new F150!

Has anyway had issues changing plugs in the 06-08 explorer v8's?

I have the 5.4 myself and would recommend doing the plugs while there is warranty remaining.

you'd probably be better off to use the motorcraft plugs(oem)as they have updated the plug(welded seam instead of bonded)and don't seem to break.m2c:)

i personaly haven't had the same concerns on the explorers, ford changed the head and plugs in late build07 f150's(went to threaded lower portion instead of exposed)either vehicle would be nice to own.:)
