Hey all,new to the forum and would like your input. Will be finalizing a deal tomorrow for an 04 f150 crew cab with 47000 ks and would like to know if I should purchase an ESP plan?Normally I would not, but now having mixed thoughts.Looking at a one year plan if I do decide to get one.
Thanks in advance,
cheers.....Sal

well personally I went with it..
why cause for the cost.. I can't afford to fix what they cover for the cost..
also I had a transmission go in a car years back 1.5 months after purchasing.. and it was 3600 to fix.. so.. after that.. I got warranty..
But make sure you don't modify the vehicle.. I have to see if I can get warranty on my truck now that it is modified.. :(

Get the dealer to mod a vehicle for you
than the warranty will be honored at that dealer

the stats Canada wide is 95% of every dollar charged on warranty gets paid out in Claims.
I found this interesting but when you think of the interest earned on the held money thats where the money is. 7 years is the norm for extended the shortest manufacturer warranty is 3yrs it becomes understandable how the stat cant be real. I say get it! but I sell it every day...

Get your dealer to check that an extended warranty wasn't already bought for the vehicle and if there was then you can transfer it over to yourself for $100. At least that's how it worked for my case.
Oooh, post #100 for me.

transfer is a great idea and usualy there is no cost to do it as it stays wiith the truck. If the used truck comes from a dealer there is small print that says it can only be transfered between private parties so it may be void if it was bought from a dealer.
