Saw a 2004 Lightning with 18,000 miles and the asking price was $19,000 USD, it looked to be in mint condition but it did have a trailer hitch on it. Not looking to buy one just courious if this was a decent price.

For that few miles to me the price seems a tad low, I'd think a 4yr old L with less than 20000 miles would go for between 25-30K, but you have no idea how hard its been driven or if there is anything mechanically wrong with it. IF it is in mint condition thats a hell of a price.

I've seen Lightnings for sale in the Autotrader in Alberta with 30-50,000 km's on them for 25-35,000. Based on the difference in vehicle prices between Canada and the US I'd say 19000 is accurate.

That's a decent price for a low mileage US truck, what color?

FYI - trailer tow package was a standard on the '04 Lightnings.

personally I still think that price is a tad low.

After 3 min of checking autotrader.ca I found 2 L's for just over 19000 with tons more miles than the US one which begs the question, for a 4yr old truck with little miles on it going for the same price as trucks with many more miles and older trucks, what isnt the ad telling you about the truck for such a low price? To me that would be a huge red flag. 18000 miles = 28,968.192 Kms.

You can't compare, mainly cause the US used car mark has gone south.
Also the buyer may be selling due to financial reasons, ultimately effecting the bottom line price.

Here is some better US comparisons :

I'd have to agree with Smoke.. Used vehicles are always cheaper in the US.

And like he said.. each vehicle has their own situation.. Which can ultimately effect the bottom line price..

Also..
towing package on a sport truck??
Was ford on crack?? Why??
Even the Base model F150 work horse trucks you have to pay extra for the tow package... :signs066:
