Will Ford Badge the Rumored Raptor as an SVT Model?

"................
With new Ford Marketing chief Jim Farley officially doing the honors (he was described as "giddy" while introducing it), video of a Raptor mule was shown bombing across the desert at high speeds.

A picture of the production grille was shown, with the word "FORD" prominently stamped into its black mesh. The anticipated BOSS engine was quoted as being rated at 380-horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Both Sean Holman at Four Wheeler and I think the numbers are purposely on the low side. We're estimating around 420-horses, based on the expected engine's 6.2-liter displacement.

One of the Raptor's long-travel shocks was held up to the dealers. It was confirmed as sourced from Fox Racing and specially built for the Raptor program. It looked similar to Fox's 2.0 Piggy Back reservoir shocks. They'll have 4-inches more travel (50% more) than the 8-inch shocks found on Ford's off-road FX-4 trim package.

Ford isn't holding back bragging about the truck, firing up dealers by calling it, "The first and only Baja 1000 Trophy Truck you'll be able to buy from a dealer." They also say they are, "going to drive this (and other vehicles shown to Ford dealers) right up Toyota's a**."

This is shaping up to be one killer truck."

Look out boys and gals

More info now available:

"......Word from the inside says that Ford actually has acknowledged the Raptor’s existence for the first time, having been announced at the recent dealer meeting in Las Vegas. It was at this meeting that bits and pieces of the Raptor were revealed, including a unique black mesh grille sans a Blue Oval. Instead “F O R D”, in block letters, possibly inspired by the awesome Bronco concept from a few years back, is proudly displayed. We also have information that a normally aspirated (okay, so we were wrong about the turbos) 6.2L Boss V-8 will power the truck and will put out at least 380hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. We say at least because the both the 5.7L V-8s found in the Tundra and Ram make alsmost exactly that power, and Ford is touting the 6.2L as a high-horsepower premium engine. If we are indeed correct about this being SVT's truck, it would make sense that the engine is underated so early before its release, which is common practice for SVT. ........"

It doesn't look much different than a regular F150. Based on the those hp #'s though it would be sweet.

the looks don't mean anything
All they are doing now is tasting suspension, engine and transmission combo
Apparently the grill was shown at the dealer meet.
Hope to have more info soon :)
