I used to work in the Essex engine plant as well as Essex Aluminum.
there are 2 areas in the EEP, old and new(v6 & V8). for the last 7 or 8 years they were only running a small mid volume line. We made the 3 valve v8's for the f-150 and also the ford falcon engine for australia....most of the specialty motors were assembled at Windsor Engine Plant...
Hopefully the 600 or so people can come back from layoff...
Anyhow many people are laid off elsewhere from the American Axle strike...like me...Windsor Ontario is NOT the place to be right now...I'm seriously debating on leaving or not?...
