I saw a Chevy with a louvered tailgate and thought that would be good for gas mileage. I searched the internet and found that they are only available for F250-350's...no Rangers.
Then I saw this one

Anyone know of a place here, in the best country in the world, to get one?
BC area would be perfect.
Anyone have a better suggestion for a hi flow tailgate?

Some sort of bed cover is best for gas milage. Louvered or non existant tailgates actually increase gas milage. It was proven on the show Mythbusters.

It was also proven on the same Mythbusters that the Tonneau or any cover does not improve mileage, in fact it may harm it.

They also showed on that episode that it's better to have your tailgate up so that tailgate would probly not help out on gas because it would almost be like havin the tailgate down. I know that our '02 F350 tailgat fit's on my 99 F150...same box. I would imagin if you got the same tailgate for your year and size box it would fit, but don't quoat me on that make shure you can return it...lol Find a friend with even an F150 same box and year range, and see if thiere tail gate fits

I am glad to hear these comments. It saves me money since I don't have to buy a tailgate or a cover. :happy-smiley-541:
A friend also told me he had sand in his old pickup and the wind didn't really kick up any sand. So I guess the wind doesn't really get into the box.
Thanks guys.
