meh.. just a glorified f150...

Took the words out of my mouth, at least the duped 750 canadians into buying a F150 badged as a Lincoln than re-badged as a "limited" in it's final year...............:icon_lol:

I think we know two of thoses... :)

But the name "LINCOLN" is still a prestige... Better than Lexus or "Acura"...

What does the current Lincoln name really mean though, I mean heck one of their models is Mexican! It's all re-branding now a days.

Lincoln
is still the name that everybody is seeking, its the same with Cady
Well known vehicles in Europe, and always looked at as diamonds

the Lincoln wasn't what it used to be, the caddy's are all there own vehicles and not a re badging and some interior changes like the Fusion (Zepher) or the EDGE (MKX) or the F-150 (Mark LT). there nice but not caddy nice, look at the caddy "V" models there awesome

No, the Mark LT was just there to give Lincoln Dealer something to sell between the LS discontinuation and the release of the MKZ, MKX & MKS...

actually the edge and mkx are different... they share the same hidden stuff like heaters/electrical but one of them is longer and is a totaly different chassi and the drivetrain is different... its in a mag will try and find the artical it compares the 2 along with a few other cars like the mazda and a volvo and how there identical just different body panels interesting actually

I dont know. Ive always liked lincolns. Before my truck i had a 2001 lincoln LS v8 and it was an amazing car. I know sales didnt do so well for them but i think alot of that lies with lincolns lack of advertising. Although i agree that lincoln needs to come out with some cars that break out of the box for them.

i loved the LS i had the opportunity to drive one for a few days, everything on that car was nice, but they did need a better v8 they should of put the 4.6 out of the mustang into it. and i do agree with the lack of advertising.

yes that is my point they all look the same, its one thing to use the same electrical but when it bares alot of resemblance to its sister vehicle. i cant see spending the extra 8-15k more. Even if they share chassis they can change the exterior and not just a couple styling cues, rims and rear lights.

The Edge and MKX are 100% mechanically the same. There are only cosmetic differences between the two. Same frame, engine, tranny, suspension ect...
How I know this you ask??? My best friend builds them at the Oakville plant.

The Mark LT was a failure from the get go much like the Blackwood was before it. The LT was a dresses up Lariat with zero mechanical up grades for 10 to 12k more and that is alot to ask for some pipeing on the leather and a cosmetically different tailgate.

Lincoln has turned into a joke compared to what Cadillac is doing and you see it first hand on the road were people are going. The new CTS has only been out for a short time and you allready see more of them on the road than the Zephr/MKZ which has been selling for years, and how many of those new Navigators do you see rolling around out there compared to the new Escalades. I guess my point is that if I was going to buy a premium version of something Lincoln would come in about dead last compared to Caddy or Lexus or Infiniti which do leaps and bounds more when it comes to premium quality vehicles.

I got my Mark LT for $9000 of the sticker price and 1.9% lease rate. As well with Lincoln the warrenty is much better than a Ford and I have found that the dealer treats you better.

The new MKS going on Sale this summer which is not based on any of the Ford Cars looks very nice IMO

Here are the specs:
The first car to feature Ford’s new TwinForce engine technology will be the 2009 Lincoln MKS, itself based on the MKR concept shown earlier this year. TwinForce is the name of Ford’s new range of fuel-efficient engines, labeled so because of the twin effects of improved power and fuel economy.

The engine that will debut in the upcoming MKS will be a flex-fuel 3.5L V6 delivering 415hp and 400lb-ft of torque thanks to a pair of turbochargers and direct injection technology. According to Edmunds, Ford is also developing a 2.5L four-cylinder variant that will eventually power the Fusion sedan and Edge crossover by the end of the decade, as well as a new dual-clutch six-speed PowerShift gearbox that should also appear in the new MKS.

Performance buffs will be pleased to know that the Mustang is destined to receive a 5.0L TwinForce V8, while an even larger 6.2L engine will be relegated to the Blue Oval’s full-size pickups and utility vehicles. Both V8 engines will not only benefit from TwinForce technology, but they’ll also feature a cylinder deactivation mechanism.

Love the look of the MKR pictured above but it will be a coin flip if that concept ever goes into production as Ford best concepts never seem to see the light of day for some reason.
The MKS is not comming out with 415hp??? Engine facts are I believe 3.5 V6 makeing 265hp first year and a added turbo for the second year of production makeing 330hp.
The MKR concept has the 6.2 Boss direct injection V8 in it and claims 415hp which is the same engine that is going to be offered in the higer end models of the 2010 F-150,Expedition,Navigator.
