What is the easiest way to determine the actual engine other than the VIN as I'm not 100% sure the engine hasn't been swapped at some point?
typo? or did you actually mean 302w? A 289, 302, and 351w are all a "windsor" motor. There is one other turd that can be confused for a 289/302, and thats the 255 V8, which i believe was only made for a year or two, back in 1981 or so. 289 and 302 can use the same intake, so you may have to resort to casting numbers by the starter on the block for help there. The intake mani on a 351 is about 2inches wider due to the taller deck, heads being farther apart, and such. Not sure if i helped any, but it may help narrow things down a bit.

That helps quite a bit as I'm trying to source out some headers and some places are wanting to know if its a windsor engine or not.
Thanks
What are we workin on here? That'll help out a bit, and any factors that may go with that.
