I got stopped today by a D.O.T. guy, and he said my lights weren't on. Huh wtf are you talking about??? Your daytime running lights are not working. HHmmmm really??? (stunned look) Well after taking my insurance and licence I got a ticket, and a box 1... That means I need to have the vehicle inspected before it can go on the road again... Ok here is the history from the beginning; I bought the vehicle from the US about 5 months ago, and the guy that originally inspected it didnt care about the DRL, he just passed it. Now the jig is up, Ive been caught... Off to the slammer I go... Ok here is my question, can I just put in a simple relay, or do I need to do the pain in the ass module install??? :icon_question: Any info will help...

Just wire them to the relay and you will be all set, I don't think they have to be on reduce power for DRL
Ticket for no DRL this is a first

The ticket had a price of 180, but its crossed out and he wrote warning through it... Guess he figures the box 1 is enough punishment. 100% power should be fine, Im not gonna be picky...

Wow at least he was kind to just give you a warning
Inspection is normal for those guys, they can pull over a brand new truck and send it for inspection any time they want (if you piss them off)

Thats exactly what I did, I took the ticket to the shop, and they pulled my inspection papers... They redid my inspection for free, and am signing me off on the "box 1" they also fixed the DRL for me so its all good....

I had to put DRL on my ranger when I imported it from the states and I got a system form Canadian tire for like 25 bucks or something like that. A wire wraps around your spark plug wire and you need to hook your lights up to it. Pretty simple to install. Good luck
