I would buy one in a heartbeat just hope they put in a real good tranny to accommodate all the possibilities for power mods with a diesel. Tranny rated at least 200hp more than stock engine put's out would be perfect :)
If I were to buy one I probly want to wait a year or two for them to work out any bugs.

My guess would be fuel economy, you would want to steer away from year one of the engine til the bugs are worked out.

I would buy if it will do a better job in towing the travel trailer.

Ford's 2010.5 F150 Diesel.... Sources at Ford's recent dealer's meeting recently revealed plans for a 4.4-liter V8 diesel, and we caught the first mules earlier today! The dual exhaust off to the side is the number one give-a-way to the true identity of this test mule. Our spies are telling us to expect about 340-horsepower and (and torque at 430 lb-ft.). After the launch of the 4.4-liter in the F150, the powerplant will appear in the Expedition, Navigator, E-Series Vans and Super Duty trucks. I would be really interested if mileage goes up and diesel price goes down.. 1,40 for diesel here at the moment .. it's getting crazier every time.

The reason I support a diesel F150 would be to push towards a diesel Ranger. There's talk in the works of keeping Rangers, and still continuing with the F100, and F150 lineups as well. I'd part my ol' whore in a heartbeat and buy a new turbo diesel 5 spd Ranger. Full size are cool, but not practical for my needs. LR

If the price difference between a gas engine and a diesel was less I might consider it, but to justify 5 or 6K more just for the diesel, I would need to drive the truck much more than I do - or will in the future.

I would wait a couple years for a Ranger/compact diesel, I already have a 1ton diesel. But if I didn't have the 1ton I would definetly consider the 150.

I think diesel prices are completly whacked in north america, its a less refined fuel and doesnt cost as much to make, fuel companys here however have the bull by the ****s and can do what they want with fuel prices. I really hope this changes soon cause this is stupid. Oh wait its a long weekend lets raise prices by 10cents, like come on we cant see what is going on!!!!
On the other side, diesels are usually more fuel efficant and less oil change intervals are needed. I would buy one if it doesnt implicate a huge, huge preminum over a gas unit.

If the diesel was availble in 2010 I might have if the price was right. The differance between my old 02 4x4 with the 4.6 with 355 gears and my 2010 5.4 4x4 with 373 gears and Max Tow is night and day. It pulls my 23' toy hauler with no problems at all.

Good point ! Because the demand for Diesel fuel in Europe is so great - I can't see the price difference gap closing in the near future. However - I would buy a Diesel F150 in a minute.
