I installed a domelight from a taurus wagon into my 01 ranger today. It was a simple job unscrew the old domelight and screw in the new one making sure to hit both contacts and the ground I now have a domelight which I put a blue bulb in and the map lights which i left white. I'll get some pics up as soon as i can.

Nice idea, I have a old taurus laying around in my salvage yard... Wonder if it has that dome light too???

This was out of a GenII taurus the Gen I are huge, Also mustangs have the same light

Superduty & Explorer dome lights work to. In the 04+ rangers you need to run a wire for the map lights.

Yep He's right the 01 - 03 is just plug and play. Some F-150 llights are supposed to work as well.
Here's a pic of the finished product. The blue light works nice for the dome light. Because my truck is a regular cab the map lights aren't aimed perfect, they shine more on the steering wheel than down on your lap but over all I'm happy with the results.

Thats even sweeter looking than I had pictured. Im definately gonna have a go at finding another for my Ranger...

Nice Mod:icon_cool:, I did that in my old 1994 F 150 got one out of a Windstar at the time, I loved it
