Hi Guys and others,

Have had my truck for about 2 yrs, 2000 F250 7.3L PSD, never used a drop of oil.(145K Km)
Last weekend, hauled our camper trailer (21FT) up a steep logging road to a fishing lake. Had the automatic transmission in D, transfer case in 4x4 Low. Part way up, noticed the smell of burning oil. Stopped and noted oil coming out the pcv vent. Did not over rev it, and temp gauge was normal. Once we got to a level place, noted that the oil was down to very near the "add" mark, which means I lost almost 2L of oil. I added a liter, and level has stayed the same, not losing oil.
Any ideas what might have happenned, or how to prevent??

Thanks!

I posted this on the help and suport forum by mistake, will try to delete that post.

Umm

1. Plugged PCV Valve
2. Overfilled oil
3. Detonation causing blow-by
4. Blown headgasket

Since it only happened the one time, im going to say its number 3.

Had something similar happen to the 99 f350 7,3L and the 02 F350 7.3L (twice) at work in the middle of the bush all three times, blown oil pump each time.... When it went it when though no filling it back up and go.
