I went to the cabin this weekend and it was a rough ride on the front end of the truck. I must have hit 50,000 mosquitos 1,000 butterflies a few hundred bees and horseflies, and one large flock of swallows. Fortunately I only took one direct hit with swallows. It took quite a few bucks at the car wash to get the front end clean, lol. The funny thing is this is the second time that ive taken out a flock of birds, I took a direct hit from about 2 dozen birds in a 84 duster when I was 18.
So I guess this puts my record at
2 dozen songbirds
1 Ruffed Grouse
1 Seagull
2 Crows
1 Heron
6 Rabbits
1 really stupid Muskrat
Fortunately have not clipped anything larger yet

you wanna come up and take out some of my skeeters? we're trying to give a few away to all the tourists that come thru. lol. that's a pretty good count. i hit way too many grouse to keep count as well as rabbits. ran over a porcupine with the work truck last year and didn't get a flat. i try not to swerve to avoid a collision with an animal unless it's bigger than me.

the best was a few years ago, i lived out in the boonies and it was about a 20 minuted drive to my school, so my sister drove me, and we were comming down this hill, and at the bottom of the hill was a dump of a house, the kind that has an old asuna sunrunner for a chicken coop... well they also had a bnuch of big white swans for some reason... well the big white van infront of us nailed one doing about 80kms and the carcass came flying at my sisters face and just missed her open window...haha i rotfl everytime i think about her reaction...priceless... poor bird:icon_sad::icon_biggrin:

^^^^^That's good....LMAO!!!
Yup Spruce Hen's are pretty dumb you can sit there and hit them with little rocks(or big ones:)) over and over and they won't move.. My dog loves chasing those bugger's.
I usually try not to hit anything big or small and I swerve according to speed and road conditions still get a few once in a while though, winter it's sorry bud your in my way clunk....
Cut the head off a Hen one time stuck out it's neck under the truck and my transfer case skid plate perfectly cut it off clean, the rest was unharmed.....good eating :)
