So I bought an 04 SD last year, 6.0l 5 speed auto and the stealership I bought it from(Truck center in Kelowna) told me it had a 100k warantee on the drivetrain. Well, it now has 96k on it and the tranny is hooped. Turns out it has no warantee from ford, and when I phoned the dealership they told me they were sorry they misled me, too bad. Anyone have any advice?

what does it say on your paperwork
if it says 100k just take it back to the same dealer

With service like that, Isn't too hard why people think Jap cars are better than ours, try to find some paperwork for your warranty and go see a lawyer or go to the newspaper

and isn't the 5 year 100,000 k warranty from ford transferable and if it is why didn't the dealer help you do that or do it for you?

That would "P" me off no doubt :icon_redface::icon_redface::icon_redface:

Ford Canada has there own customer care centre try to find your paperwork
and contact them . IF you are getting yanked around by the dealer they will
step up and help you out. I had some issues with my dealer in the past and
they worked it out with me. Good Luck .

Ford says there is no warantee, it's not that it wasn't transferred. The guy I bought it from says there was.

if ya dont got the paperwork saying warranty then its time to pay for a new tranny.

if you feel the dealership was shady and ripped you off then a bag of sugar and a funnel in the dealership parking lot should make you feel better.

A bag sugar doesn't solve anything....(feels good but no) take the guy that claims
it has a warrenty to the dealer to help work it out . IF still no resolve take him with
you to see a lawyer.

If he sold it to you on the pretense that there was a warranty, and he is ready and willing to admit it, then the dealership should honor it... It could come down to his word against yours tho... Im really hoping you dont have to buy a new tranny, but if you do check out the wrecks first... Good Luck.... You could however write a letter to the BBB, they may be able to help...

What failed in the transmission? Fords powertrain warranty on the 6.0 is 160K. I've got an 04 and have used it a few times now. I only pay $100 deductable.

fords powerstroke 160k warranty is on powertrain only, not drive train. the 100k (5yr) powertrain and drivetrain warranty started after the 05 model and is not for every model. Sucks about your trans but it sounds like the salesmen lied or doesn't know and shouldn't be selling cars. People like that give dealers a bad rep.
