The front's are pretty close to that of a Toyota, so a set of Wagoneer 44044 leafs or even YJ leafs should work well - but those might require an extra leaf to stiffen them.

Thats an idea I've been seriously tossing around for a lot of years, and even picked up a set of EB axles but sold them when my last Ranger was stolen.. If there wasn't so much pressure to sell them then I would have had them rebuilt and under my current Ranger by now. I've been seriously considering an upgraded D30 swap with waggie springs in this one to rid myself of the nightmare of D35 wheel bearings. LR

are you any good with a welder/grinder/metal fabrication?

Well, my frontend spat out another set of near new wheelbearings but thankfully BCAA covered the 100 km tow home..

So I am also SERIOUSLY considering a 95-up XJ D30 swap into mine, and I will be watching this thread a lot more closely. The reason being is that the newer D30s got the 297x (D44) v-joints versus the much smaller 260x, and they have 1 pc axles. They should be on par strength-wise with the D35 frontend.

How far along is your swap and if it is fabbed in, how do you find the YJ leafs for height and ride? I'd like to ideally stick to about a 2 - 3" lift and that's it as I don't want my truck sitting any taller. What shackles are you using, and how about the steering and its effectiveness. Thanks. LR
