Howdy

Even though there's no right answer just wondering what's the ratio of stock trucks (or just with little modiefications like exhaust) versus modiefed trucks that have a more modern drivetrain.

well mine's modified. Started off having a stock 4.9L in her and I swapped in an 86 5.0 H.O. out of a stang into her. The 5.0 is heavily modified too

MOD EVERYTHING!:icon_twisted:
I've built three ford trucks and all three were and are better as the finshed product.
#1 1979 F-150 shortbox regular cab 4x4. I've got over $30000.00 in this truck and the mod list is extensive. I still own this one.(rarely used)

#2 1987 Ranger shortbox regular cab 4x4. I through away all the electrical, the 2.9 v6, the 5speed, the transfercase, the front and rear diffs and the dash with the cluster and swapped them with the necessary donar pieces from a 91 Explorer 4 door. (4.0, 5-speed, manual transfercase, dana 35 & ford 8.8, dash, computer, wiring and fuel pump) The most expensive part was buying a new fuel pump for a 91 Ranger 4.0, building a rear shaft and Warn Hubs. I had a total of about $3200.00 in this little truck and it was stone reliable giving me more then 20000 trouble free kms. It was also a great little bush truck, it would go anywhere. I SOLD THIS TRUCK:(

#3 1996 F-350 regular cab, longbox, 4x4 POWERSTROKE!:icon_biggrin: I've got approximately $27000.00 in this truck and it is my daily driver. It commutes 480 to 510 kms on a regular basis and is the BEST truck I have ever owned.
