I'm picking up a '94 Ranger 4x4 this weekend and I'm looking at getting some rims/rubber for it. I'm going to go with the American Racing Outlaw II rims, 15x8. I was told on another forum that I could run a 31x10.50 tire on it, but when I went looking for tires they said that the biggest I could go is a 30x9.50. Anyone have 31inch tires on their Ranger? It's stock height.

that model of ranger have the most tire clearance in all ranger models,
i know someone with a ranger that year and he has 3" body lift and 35" tires, and another guy i know has no lift whatsoever and 32" tires

dranged...this is from another board;

4x4 Rangers & all Explorer & Bronco II

For '83-'92 4x4 Rangers and all Bronco II, you can fit up to a 30x9.50R15 (235/75R15) using the stock rims.

On '93-'08 4x4 Rangers (and all Edge/Trailhead models), a 31x10.50R15 or a 265/75R16 will fit, depending on if you have the 15" or 16" stock wheels (16s are common on '98-'08)

'91-'01 Explorers (all) should be able to accommodate a 31x10.50R15 or 265/75R16 on stock rims.

you can fit 31x10.5 on after market 15" rims on a bronco ll no lift no scrubing problem with the bronco ll's is the ass end always sags

id say the 31's will clear on the ranger the front valance may need slight trimming

also be prepared to go through front 4x4 hubs if you offroad it unless you switch to the manual warn hubs which can take the torque

i have 32x11.5r15's on my truck, but its raised 4 inches my friend ross. had 33x12.5R15's under his 93 ranger at stock. but a lil rubbing on the front bumber when getting in to driveways; thats all. i'd go wiht 31's or 32's. your choice.

I just got offered, and bought a set of 4 Michelin 31 x 10.5 x 15 XRadials with 65% meat left for $50.00
Do I need to do anything special to get them to be plug and play? Also will they affect the standard wear and tear the truck would get on regular size tires? I can wait to get off road with them once they are installed... Cooker, Needamudpit, and Ruggedranger feel like a off road trip?????

They should fit fine stock although I recommend a small T-bar crank to keep from rubbing off road on a bottom out.
