my 03 supercrew 4x4 has an intermitant vibration at any speed. When it happens it is so severe you think you eyes are gonna vibrate out of your head.Suspect rear end as it is definately in the back. U-joints are fine and it happens even when I tried my winter tires . Rear end is LS 3:73, any ideas? or any one had a similar problem?

my 03 supercrew has an intermitent vibration that will shake you right out of the truck. It happens at any speed, and I have to stop. Once I start again it seems fine. It is in the rear and suspect the rear diff is the problem. It is LS with 3:73's . Has any one had any similar issues ? The truck has 80k on it.

i wonder if the LS is buggering up. might want to drain the oil and replace with new and a friction modifier for the LS.

I had the drive shaft out & checked , u-joints all ok and I did change the 75w/140 to the ford friction lube, but sill having the same problem. There were small filings on the magnet on the fill plug.

Top of my head... bent axle or rim???

and a small amount of filings on the magnet on the fill plug is normal wear

check you tires.. you might have a twisted belt in it which happens a lot with snow tires, change back you regular tires to eliminate at least 1 variable

did you pull the u-joints right off and check them or just check for play? they sometimes will seize up and cause a vibration maybe pull the driveshaft out and try moving them and see if they are seized

yah sorry i guess i shoulda read more then just the first 2 posts, i didnt see you had already done that

Check your wheel nuts form damage and tightness too, bad vibration could be lot's of things but when the Dually wheel fell off it had a bad vibration for a little bit just never thought of checking the lugs.

i had that problem, for me it was a shotty u-joint and also a pin missing from my driveshaft. damn thing was only hanging on by one pin at one end.. oops

stuck ebrake?

This happened to me several times on the highway. Either the ebrake wasn't adjusted properly or it was ceased slighly on, but the truck felt like it was coming apart. Supposedly there was a Ford bulletin (not recall) about this as well.

the tsb you refer to is for 04-07 f150,could this be a buck/jerk at light throttle?might be a misfire.

is it a two piece shaft? If so it could be a hanger bearing

I was going to suggest an unbalanced/bent driveshaft but you said the vibe happens at any speed and not at a specific speed.

There is a ring at the engine side of the dive shaft on the slip yoke, with that missing it would vibe.
