Chrome steps

Anyone else have an issue with these rusting? I have had my truck for about a month and noticed a few very small rust divits on one of the bars, I took it back to the dealer and they said that it wasn't covered under warranty and the supplier had been having issues with a bunch of these,
Service manager told me to call ford care and complain but i took it one step further and talked to the manager, He is going to replace it with one off the lot, Just curious.

we have them on our work trucks and they started to pit right away,the ones we got that where black we just took them off. i think if you run a mudflap on the front you will cut down on the pitting and rust

this piting wasn't due to road wear more of just a bad chroming job but mud flaps are coming.
