I had it on my silverado, definitely a must have. It costed me somewhere in the range of 450$.. but mind you we had it done on our fleet. When i talked to the guy last, about 6 months ago he said 475 for just the box, and i think 520 if you wanted to go up and over the bed rail.

It stands up to great abuse, has a lifetime warranty and beats a box liner 10-1.

Comes in different colors too iirc.

With Ford you don't have to do over the rail
they are all covered

Yeah i forgot about that, on any truck that doesn't have that though..i think it looks so much better if you line-x it right over the rail.

Had linex in my 2000 and in this truck. Its a must. It looks so much better than a scratched box.

I love it! Loaded a sled up last month and the carbides didn't even scratch.

I had my box done about 18 months ago, still looks new. I had them remove the bed caps and do the bed rails for an extra $40. Some places do Line-x extra, which they try to colour match it to your truck.

I even had them do my door sill plates 2 months later. Tired of the bottom of the driver's door rubbing off the paint on the door sill.

Line-xed bed rails.

Had lots of firewood and about 3 tons of cinder blocks in the bed and still looks new.

Has anyone tried the DIY duplicolor kit? I'm thinking of going that route. I also plan on doing the bottom of the doors/fenders/bedsides and maybe the bumpers.

No, but I've heard that its not as tough as the spray on stuff, kinda hard to get the same thickness all over. For areas that won't be seen or are hard to see, this stuff would be pretty good protection.

heres my .02$

if you ever plan on selling it, and you end up doing what you say, the first person to come look at the truck will see the amateur painting job and think, what's this guy trying to hide?

it's like when people spray the underneath with those 5$ rockergaurd spray cans.. doesnt do anything really.

if you want it done properly though, i would strip everything from underneath the vehicle, tape it off and have it actually line-x'd. Looks 100000x better, it will never rust, and it will always protect your vehicle. Anything else is just a waste of time imo

You can spray the DIY kits and my father inlaw is an awsome painter, thats why I am thinking of going that route. I'm gonna try it on the bronco first as it is only a bush rig. But thanks for the 2cents.

I did the duplicolor in the box of my truck and then put a plastic liner over it( the duplicolor prevents the box from rusting). I got a really sweet deal on the plastic liner, both items cost me under 200 bucks. If you prep the area properly it should never peel, it took me most of a day to scuff the box and clean it good.

I also have a little rust to repair in the bed of the 350 before it gets done so it's gonna be ALOT of work for that one.

yikes.. a pneumatic sander and half an hour would have worked too.

I just traded up for a 2009 and decided to go with Line-X after having had bedrugs in my two previous rangers. I use the truck to deliver stuff from work so I wanted to have something that would stand up to a little abuse but most of all protect the truck.
I'm absolutely blown away by not only the product but definitely the installation. It looks like it was installed at the factory - I couldn't believe they remove the bed bolts before spraying (and they couldn't believe that my truck has 10 bed bolts!)
The stuff is amazing - they have a pop can in the shop with the lid cut out of it. The outside is sprayed with about 3/16" of line-x (standard thickness) and you can't dent the can. Try that with a regular can! It's as tough as nails - every truck I own from now on will have a line-x in it!

Had my done a month ago when the truck was two months old. So far, so good. I hear many good things so I am anticipating no problems.
