I am trying to remove the dustshields on my F-350 because they are banged up and every time I go on a gravel road it lets pebbles in and they stay in ther and squeel constantly. I have removed pebbles from there 3 times now and have decided that the shields are going.

So my question is how do I get the disc off? I got the caliper off and dissconected the parking brake cable, I thought the disc would just slide off after that? I don't have a manual for this truck yet but I plan on getting one today, just thought I would ask you guys first (don't want to walk to crappy tire)

Never mind I went back out and tried beating it with a mallet again and it came off.

Yeah I tried befoer posting here but it wasn't moving so I figured I would see if there was a trick to this particular model. Went back out and I guess I was a little more frustrated with it so it came off :) The other side only needed one hit.

Shields are gone and my truck is now squeelless.
