do/can you take the axle/u-joint to the store with you? that way there should be no mix up.

i kinds doubt it, but a phone call to the right dept. might answer it. any Napa or something like that there? that would be a better chance.

Canadian tire will have them, if not they can order them in.
P.S. If you were in Alberta you could have the new ones sitting in my garage.

your talking rear drivshaft ? when i had my 89 you could only buy it in 1 piece as a reman piece the lower part has a normal ujoint but the upper has a joint like a cv piece which wears out fast because of the sag in the ass end of the b11's normally what happens is it wears out and the balbearings fall out
crappy tire couldnt get the piece when i needed it uap could but it had to be shipped in and i had to drive in 4x4 and take it easy and not do over 80k
if you can find one good luck i waited 3weeks for mine and ordered a second spare i ended up going through 5 driveshafts in that truck but i also beat on it and offroaded it with 31's
(this was in like 98/99)

What are you looking for CV joint or the u-joint, the front driveshaft should have two u-joints, the rear will have a CV and one u-joint, are you looking for the front axle joints and needle bearings.
I have re-built CV on the old Bronco's (66-76) PITA, I belive it can be done on the new ones, but I had a Ranger.
It might be worth it, to get to know the local wrecking yard!!!
I'm west of Edmonton, your Dad is most likely in FT. MAC, 5+ hours away.
I would have to look for the part's, I think ? I have new axle seals as well as u-joints.
