Hi everyone, just a question about my 2000 excursion. 3 days ago, my check engine light came on again. It happened about 3 weeks prior to this, back in September, and once back in July. When it happened in Sept. I thought it may have been the CPS which I got a recall notice for, so I took it to the local dealer and had them change the sensor and after a couple of hours the light on the dash went out. I thought that was it until 3 days ago when the light came back on. This time I got the dealer to hook it up to their diagnostic computer and they said that I need a glow plug module. They wanted $500.00 to replace it. Where would I find it on my 7.3L and is it really that difficult to change myself?
Thanks:icon_cool:

It's on top of the engine underneath the plastic "PowerStroke" cover. Never changed it before but it doesn't look all that hard.

Check out thedieselgarage.com I am sure they will even post pics of it for you. Good luck.

Hey glad you got it sorted.

When I was in the Ford dealer today getting the 1st service the staff where talking about the glow-plug module. (Mechanic wanted one for a Diesel Service truck) The part Number's for it was stuck to the monitor.

Must be common fault on the diesel's?
