Well my girlfriends explorer is running like crap as normal. At around 90km it starts to shake and sputter once past 95 or so it stops any ideas?

Sounds like an out of balance wheel or bad tire, but I'm no expert.

ive got an 02, there are issues with the explorers ( just like alot of vehicals)
if it does it while driving between the same speeds all the time then its probly a bad tire or out of balance rim. if its the awd model then the sensors can go wacky makeing it seem like the rear tires are slipping so it will engage the front axle can cause a jumpy/shake

checked wheels and tires for balance or spots and prefectly fine. its not the awd model. no one seems to be able to fix it properly. changed everything fuel lines filter, injectors spark plugs wires

Adam:was there any codes stored in pcm?that year of explorer had problems with the dpfe sensor freezing up causing egr valve to open incorrectly(the dpfe has 2 hoses going to exhaust manifold):)
