k, seeing that i'm at work right and for some reason it won't let me start a new thread. Being that this one has 4x4ing in it, i figured i'd ask
what is the max speed one can shift from 2 wheel to 4 wheel drive...and what is max speed while in 4x4?????
sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread, and move it if you need to, just can't find the info anywhere in my manual.
thanks in advance

My 07 can be shifted into 4H up to 60MPH. Not that you would need 4x4 at those speeds though.:icon_neutral:

My Owners manual if I remember correctly for the 99 F150 that is fully auto says I can switch to 4HI at anytime under 80km/h and drive with it at any speed(but I don't, if you need 4x4 after 80km's your driving too fast...lol), but my 4LOW will only engage and disengage when at full stop and in neutral.
With the F250 it is manual hubs with a shifter leaver on the floor, I'm not sure what the manual says but she grinds once in a while if I try to engage at certain speeds and engages fine other times, I try to avoid shifting into 4HI while moving but sometimes it's inevitable. I need to be fully stopped and in neutral to engage 4LOW as well.
If you are driving in 4LOW you can tell if your going too fast for it, if it don't feel rite it probably isn't. Only engage into 4LOW if your are already stuck or if you think you are going to get stuck really soon in a short distance and switch back to 4HI or 2x4 as soon as the obstacle is out of the way.

That looks like a lot of fun. While on the one hand I don't want any snow if it does snow than lets just have a big dumping so I can have some fun in my Truck ;)

I LOVE SNOW RUNS!! Was up muley hunting 4 days this weekend, -10 days and -20 nights, was the best out playing in the foot of snow on the quad (no grip heat either!). Playing follow-the-leader on my quad with buddy with a Jeep Rubicon... its funny how stuck I could get him up in the trees then do circles around him in 2wd :icon_biggrin:
Thanks for sharing the pics! LR
