I want to put HID's in my 05 f250 but I want to do headlights and fog lights. Does anyone know where I can get a kit locally?

I just bought and installed a set of 6000k HID from futurevision this week. They are very easy to deal with I had a problem but they helped me sort it out. They have telephone and internet support great guys.

Does anyone know if retrofitting hids into our trucks is legal now?I know a couple of years ago there was a big deal about this but haven't heard much since........
Its still one of those grey areas

it aint gray. its illegal and blinding to other drivers especially with trucks . hopefully you don't blind anyone and cause an accident
i have a 2 million watt light in my truck that when i get blinded by illegal HIDs i give hem the light right in the front windshield
if you have your lights adjusted properly they won't blind anyone, even with halogen lights adjusted improperly they will blind someone driving a car

If I can order my truck from the factory with HID's as an option how is it illegal? coming from someone who would admit to doing something as stupid as shining a blinding flashlight in peoples eyes, which could land your ass in jail if you hurt someone bad enough.

ordered from fatory isnt illegal. do some research
its the people who put blinding HIDs in housings made for Halogens which scatter the light and blind oncoming traffic.
It aint the same as high beams its way worse. but what do i know.
Also if you can order Hid from the factory then you answered you own question on where you can get HIDs locally so then no need to start this thread. Or you could have used the search button at the top.

I have them on my truck. Never been stopped by the police in Edmonton. Can't argue with you Blair on the legality cause I don`t really know. Will check with my contacts downtown and get back to you. I thought they were legal as long as they met Canadian standards. But I could be wrong.
Mine are bright white and I`ve never been flashed by anyone.

Spoke to my buddy today. He is in the upper rankings of the Sheriffs Dept now that he's retired from the RCMP. He advised his guys have more important things to do than go after people with hid lights. High speed drivers is their priority.
He is gonna dig into the regs and see if he can find anything. This issue came up once before when I was in the force and we couldn't find a specific charge relating to hid type lights.
Hopefully he'll be able to come up with a straight answer.
