I just changed mine for the second time and it only lasted 2 days (again)! Anyone know what might be causing them to go bad so fast? I even used die electric grease on this one.

Oh it's on the 99 350 Diesel no A/C fleet model

high resistance in blowermotor?

What would cause that?

I am thinking that this one is too much for me and needs to go into the dealer. I would rather fix it myself but I don't have the know how to chase down electrical gremlins.

the high resistance is a good guess. the only other real option is a screwy switch.

oh, and i know whenever i do ford truck resistors at the shop i end up changing the pigtail too. it's very common that the old one bakes onto the old resistor. if it doesn't snap the locking tabs when you remove it then often there's some burning or corrosion in the connections. that could give some extra risistance right there too, and we all know that unintentional resistance = extra heat = a messed up circuit. whenever i dignose a resistor for these things i order the pigtail automatically : )

gooooooood luck!

Try lubing it up with silcone spray.

Usually when we have vehicle come in with this concern we change the blower motor and resistor I have tryed only a resistor and eventually they come back, do both it will save ya in the long run, and if the wiring shows any signs of meltage change that too!

The wiring is good but the plugs clips have broken off but the plug is not coming out. I'll do the motor/switch and resistor when i get the time/energy again, thanks everyone for your input.
