03 Escape PS hose

My Father's 03 Escape has a bad power steering line. I was wondering if anyone has changed one out and how hard it is to get too? He is being quoted between 3-600$ in labor to replace it!?!? And he asked me if I would be able to do it, but without being able to look at it until Saturday I wouldn't know.

is it a 4cyl or v6?the v6 line is a little harder to replace cause it runs behind engine,you can access the rack fittings by removing the l front tire,but the most common repair is a 75 cent hose clamp on the fluid return line at the rh strut tower blowing off at cold temps(they use a pos spring clamp factory)

It's a v6, he already bought the replacment hose. We are gonna do it on saturday. I'll check that clamp while I'm at it. Thanks shelbyx1

The part they gave him is the hard line that comes out of the pump, his is good. The leak is behind the engine right around the middle, any ideas what part is gone?

It's the return line. We put more fluid in and sarted it and it leaked right at the mounting bracket for the line. We are just going to replace the rubber hose and use hose clamps. dads getting parts now. Thanks again.
