Thats a nice unit. My dad works for International out of Red Deer, those LoneStar's are amazing looking trucks. I love the grille on that thing.

I really hope the first time I see one on the highway, the road conditions are good because there will only be one hand the the steering wheel, the other is going to be very busy....

Look cool !

My two last bus were an '94 Inter with a Corbeil body and an older Inter with a Wayne body. Those beast were undestructible ! Until I saw the Wayne at a local junkyard recently :(

Now I'm stuck with a crappy 1998 Thomas Freightliner :(

I absolutely LOVE this Rig. I went to look at them, when i was preparing to get out of the military, however things happen and i'm still in. I would buy one in a heartbeat.

I would do illegal, unspeakable things to run one of those trucks! I've been in a couple and driven a fairly base model Lone Star once, damn nice trucks. International's sure come a long way in the last few years building some very quality trucks. I always loved the 9900s and have had a few over the years, 400 - 525 ISX powered, but those put them to shame.

I have also always found International to be about the best bang for the buck out there for a utility truck, but the Lone Star sure blew that out of the water! The interior was a lot like the WS Low Max but nicer IMO. I've always liked International interiors better than the Stars anyways. They're definitely a badass rig, and look cool as hell cruising down the highway. My last highway rig was a WS, very nice cherrywood and high pile carpet interior, but since Freightliner bought them their quality's dropped massively.

My first International was a '98 ex-Arnold Bros 9200 with a 350 hp C12 15 spd, and gawd was the truck a POS.. 1.3M+ km's on it, toast clutch and I was hauling beer from Van to Prince George and lumber back down, 103,000 lbs tridem both way. Good thing it had OK brakes cause the jake did nothing to slow it down. It finally died when the starter shorted and wouldn't stop cranking, burnt up a bunch of the firewall and wiring (and ate up 2 large fire extinguishers!). Left me sleeping in -11 cold in Calgary for the night due to the engine not being able to run....

I've run them all out there and I still like Internationals the best for their layout and size. PBs and KWs are nice but I hate their small cabs. LR

I'm a pretty big fan of the Kenworth W900 as well, with the Pendelton interior. I had a chance to tag along in one from Saskatoon to edmonton, this thing was sweet. Brand new had only like 5000kms on it...rode smooth, and looked sharp as hell.

it would be a tough choice if I had to make a decision on which one i would actually buy.

A W900s still a better built truck, but then again you get what you pay for! LR

Its all in what you like, I have driven some volvos that cant compare to other trucks imo, but apparently thats a girly truck, for some reason. :icon_confused:

Volvo's ride nice and turn sharp, thats where they end! They're still cheap, plastic trucks with bad wiring and electronics!! Just my opinion though. Lumber like a drunken sailor in the corners too!

I like the interiors in the Cornbinders better, more spacious and better laid out. LR

From a mechanics stand point, International is the worst truck to work on.. I think Harley should have let someone else build this truck.
