I love mine, but their fancy smoked LED's. I might not have a SuperDuty, or 40in tires, but I'm just as tall as a SuperDuty with 35" tires and a 6" lift on it, so I think I qualify. I made my boss so jealous he's adding some on his lifted 250, he didn't have them stock.

Clearance light's are meant to give oncoming traffic a better perspective of the size and position of the oncoming vehicle(in order to clear it....lol).

I have never liked them, my last 3 Super Duty's did not have them. My current truck was pulled from inventory so I ended up with them. Really didn't like them. Added the Ion Chrome Putco lenses, now I'm kind of liking them. (wow 5 "thems" in 3 lines, not bad :) )

I agree with others that it depends on the truck. Stock - no way. All done out and beefy - it fits.

If you have a dually by law you need them because of the vehicle width I believe, so generally they come on 1 ton's and up (unless you specify otherwise for a srw), and its an option with 3/4 tons

I love 'em too, they give the truck a "truck" look. They look real good too with a set of air horns in between them! I think they look especially good on the Dually trucks with all the extra lights they have.

I had a black, 78 F-150 4 x 4, with the factory 4" lift.

I bought it used from a good friend and he ordered it with clearance lights, as well as some other nice options.

I really liked the looks of that truck. When I saw my black 06 SD in the lot with clearance lights, it was 'love at first sight'!!!!!

I agree, a lifted, done up truck with clearance lights looks right.

Love them. My did not have them when I purchased so I bought up some of the Recon smoked ones. Haven't got the courage or the time yet to install.

This is my first post on this site, so hello everyone. If you goes with cab lights on a non cab light truck ( like i did with my 2000 PSD) id recommend the LED Recon lights for the dodge rams(03-07 i think). they are slimmer and arent like those triangle clearence lights on the sides of older school buses.
Heres a pic of mine: I also put the outside lights closer to the outsides of the truck, i didnt like how ford has them on the inside of that groove in the cab.

Doesn't matter to me if a truck has them or not but I do like them personally. I'd probably have a set on mine if I were to buy a SD, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it though. Driving truck for a living I know the importance of lighting and being seen by traffic around you, so do I support vehicles having as many clearance lights as realistically possible and using them both day and night, but I hate folks who drive around with auxiliary driving/fog lights on for no reason - guess a lot of people don't realize what it does to oncoming driver's eyes, especially when they've been behind the wheel for hours on end. I usually carry a bucket of rocks in the truck to take care of them.. LR

I'm gonna look at those recon lights for my SD, then figure out how to get the headliner down so i can wire them up.

Just gonna toss this out here how do you guys feel about the lund visor with the led lights in them ? I think they look good and do the same purpose as the cab lights plus the visor cuts the sun out when needed .

Recon is the way to go!! I think those Lund visors look shitty, no new truck should have that on it. Toss some recon smoked clearance lights up there and your good to go!
