Anyone know what 'Medium Flint' is?

I only just realized that while I had asked for a Black interior on my FX4 with the Luxury package my paperwork says 'Medium Flint/Black'. I missed it signing the paperwork so I might have to live with whatever it is if it is too late to change the factory order.

However, for the life of me, I've been trying to figure out what Medium Flint would look like.

On the Ford.ca website, it lists 'Medium Flint' Captains Seats as an option. The default option that is selected does not have any colour associated with it. To confuse further - the interior colour picture does not change regardless which one you pick AND there is no mention at all of Medium Flint in the brochure. In-fact the brochure lists the interior colour options for a FX4 to be Black/Black and Medium Stone/Black.

You would think that having an artist for a wife, one of us could figure this out but neither of us can tell.

I've noticed at least a couple of local dealers on this site so I'm hoping someone can chime in and tell me what Medium Flint is.

Color wise, flint is very dark gray or black, so what would medium flint be, medium gray, I think.......... I am confused as well. Why not call it black or gray?

Well I think the obvious conclusion is that it is right inbetween Light flint and Dark flint....

But I honestly think it is the black seats with a medium gray inserts in the seats.

Are you looking at the Canadian Ford website BTW? they might have different terminology for the same color.

This is medium flint (sorry for the bad pic). The black part probably refers to the black accents such as steering wheel and guage cluster surround but I'm, not sure on that part.

Medium flint is basically standard gray.

If it's listed on the order sheet but not shown in the published literature or on the Ford website, there's a good chance the dealer used an old form. For example, when I signed for my 2006 Sport the paperwork said 2006 Edge, because that was the form they had.

The FX4s I've seen are typically all black interior (no separate insert color in the seats)

Thanks all. My wife talked to the salesperson yesterday. She said that I am getting black leather like I wanted. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out as planned and looking forward to the truck.
