Tranmission question 4.2L to 4.6L

will the tranny from a 4.2L V6 I believe a 4R70W, fit and bolt up and power a 4.6L?

I usually try a variety of google searches, changing the keywords of the search. You could probably find the answer and post it here. I would assume they are from the same make and model truck with an OAD button on the column?

The bolt pattern is the same, and if you're nice the tranny will handle a stock 4.6L. If you're not nice to it, then it'll go *boom*. LR

Yes, The transmission should work but the bell housing may be different

the 4.2 and the 4.6 were never offered in a Pre 97 truck
