I am wondering which products all you guys are using on the leather seats, trim and steering wheel. I know the leather is called Castano, but there is not too much that I can find out about it. I have used a real mild cleaner and conditioner that came with our leather couch and chairs. The seats have gone darker in some spots from the previous owners neglect. I use Mink oil on my Tony Lamas, but I am not sure if it will harm the truck. Any comments?

So far I have only used the King Ranch leather conditioner you can purchase through Ford dealers, E-Bay or diectly from the King Ranch Saddle Shop (http://www.krsaddleshop.com/leather-conditioner/p/1053/) (cheapest way). My brother uses saddle conditioner he gets from a local saddle shop and has also had good results. The King Ranch leather is saddle leather, thats why it holds up as good as it does. This is also the reason you shouldn't use regular leather products on it.

Yeah, good question. I guess I should learn this stuff too now. Is it actual real leather in the Rangers or is is fake/low grade stuff? Seemed fine to me when sitting in it. LR

I have used the KR leather conditioner from Ford (it smells nice)...but have preffered the results i get from Mother's leather conditioner.
I wouldn't use mink oil as i would think it would turn them very dark.

I just had a couple looking at buying my KR and they couldn't believe how an 05 could still have that new truck smell ...... yes the KR leather conditioner does keep the leather smelling nice! ;)

303 protectant is good stuff, but clean with warm LIGHTLY soapy water first, don't soak it too much and let it dry a bit before applying the protectant.
cleaning and protecting your leather will help you get sooo much more life out of your seats , leather is skin, keep it clean and protected and will last much longer. you wouldn't believe how many seats I repair that people never ever touched and then wonder why it didn't last. let your hands dry out, sit in the sun, then freeze them for a month or 2 all the while rubbing denim back and forth on 1 spot for a year and see how they look. Leather that has been treated properly will last an incredibly long time.

Add one to the Zaino list - I use Z9 and Z10 on all three vehicles in our family.
