Hello
Anyone out there know why my transmission is shifting hard it only shifts hard only when you are going up hill and it kicks down to a lower gear i took it to my mechanic to see if there was somthing wrong with the transmission he said that it was fine could it have something to do with tuneup or fuel problems because it is a brand new rebuilt tranny with a moter that has 250000 kms on it could it have something to do with that. if anyone knows what it could be please email back

Thanks for your time

I assume you've checked the fluid level. Is the OD light on your shifter flashing?

The speed sensor where to speedo cable goes in to the transmission I had a 1991 an it screw up and the trans shifted really hard

which truck is it?if it's the 94 did they use the correct fluid in it(using mercon sp or merc syth will cause high down shift pressures, merc 3 should be used or merc v)also if you have access to a scan tool check line press(epc)should be around 35-50 at idle and boost to 100 in gear, most common concern even on rebuilt is sticking solonoids.

Could you give me some more info about this? I have an '02 with what seems to be the same problem. Sure love to fix it.
