Hi there, newbie post here, so excuse the rookie mistakes, if any. Looking to buy my first ford truck, 2010 F150 FX4. Looking to add the Max tow package maybe, but wondering if it is necessary? Truck rated for 9500lbs without it, has hitch, and will order factory brake controller. I figure if i am towing a trailer more than 9000lbs, probably should be driving a F250. Will the ride be stiffer with the extra leaf springs? My RV is 5000lbs only. Looks like the truck comes standard with heavy duty cooling and rad already. Thanks for the help. Oh ya, its a factory order, so option is open.
Thanks for the help. Looking forward to trading in my old tundra on a new Ford!

u'r trailer is probably dry weight, add the stuff inside, food, clothing etc... goes up pretty quickly.

I got the max tow with LT tires.... smooth ride, no issues. steering ratio is great.. towing mirrors are hugh, but once your used to them, they rock!

the extra leaf will only help keep the arse up when you put the trailer down on the bumper.

Dido for me. The ride is the same plus you get extra support. Can't go wrong with that.

Remember you trailer tongue wt may be 500lbs but you load the truck with lumber or stone ane you will be happy to have an extra leaf.

Agreed...get max tow, I didn't and now i'm adding a leaf in the back cause it's squatting too much.
