My grandparents just traded their 2009 Ranger in for a 2010 Explorer Sport Trac..
They had it under a week.. @ the 237km mark it started chugging and no power and died.




Sunday night got it towed back to dealership it was purchased from.
Monday morning it was rolled into shop.
Thursday rolled out with new engine installed.

WTF? under 300kms and it needs a new engine.. :icon_rolleyes:

Spark plug broke off in cylinder was the diagnosis..

I wish I had pics.. but apparently there wasn't much to see.. and they live over an hour away.

That's just scary.....another plug problem...first they blew out, then they broke taking them out, now they break while driving. hope it was a rare occurance and they continue to enjoy the new truck. was it the 4.6?

Well got an update!

It was a 4.0L and was a valve and seat that went site seeing inside the engine.
had 294kms on it.
