Read code 542, Fuel pump secondary circuit failure, PCM to ground.

I have 95 Explorer OHV 4.0 6V

This is the code that I stored KOEO – is okay but memory
Code 542, Fuel pump secondary circuit failure, PCM to ground

Car runs generally fine but when I drive in traffic and car speeds up ( rpm's over 2000) and I take off my foot from accelerator pedal sometimes rpm’s drop down to about “ 0 “ and back to 550 / 600 and engine is working properly. But the other time engine is turned off.

After this I check code and there is code 542.


Can anybody help me?

Mika:this code can come from a poor ground to the fuel pump,also the inertia switch can be part tripped,it can be found on the rh side of the trans tunnel under the carpet,just tap it than push the red button on top and retest for stalling.
