My idea of a hot rod always has a stick and a clutch pedal. I'd like to see someone take a supercharged 5.4, along with the six speed, out of a new Cobra Mustang and put the whole assembly into an old rod. :icon_cool:

if you want traditional you've got to have a flathead V8 in it

Ok so we've established that Pat should have a Ford flathead V8, I'm thinking the 337 CID. That way he can build fair hp. 3-speed or 4-speed or 3-speed with overdrive add? I think something with syncomesh. Driving spur cuts is a PITA. Ford 9" rear or Dana 60/70? I'd say Ford to keep the overall theme but Ford did use Dana's. Decisions, decisions. Any other thoughts guys? Let's get Pat off to a good start. And maybe he'll let us borrow it for Saturday nights.

well I'd say the 9" rear end but that's cause I've got 2 of them in my garage that have been chrome dipped

how about a 8.8 irs from a t-bird/cougar?as for a eng/trans a 351w and aod as you are limited in underhood space.

:icon_question:What are you up to, Shelby? Sounds suspiciously like the same rear end from your daughter's new car.
