What to do now?

So I sold my truck this morning.
I am a little at odds with this decision but I think it was for the best.
Now I need another on......lol.
Having an old ford for only 4 months was enough to make me a Ford man. I loved this truck, but decided to get rid of it while it was still worth something.
I will hopefully be getting something a little newer as soon as I get back to work. Hopefully another F-series.This summer will be about saving, saving, saving. After I put a motor in my car.
Just curious as to the styling of the generations. I love the look of the 80-90's styling, but the chances of coming across another one around here in good shape in the salt capitol of the world are slim to none.
I very much dislike the 97-whatever generation.(sorry)
Just curious as to when they changed to the newer look. My buddy has an 01, and though the interior is very nice, the stance and power are great, the front end is a little lacking and looks kinda cheap. Still maintained that 97ish look. But maybe with a facelift, I would like it more.
Anybody have any pics of the 97ish gens and the 01ish gens with some upgrades to the front end?

97-03 as well as 04 there was the "Heritage" edition which was the 03 style but was an 04. Make sense?

97-98 trucks are the same. 99-03 and 04 Heritage trucks have different foglights and front valances. Also some really early 97's won't accept most aftermarket headlights. It is possible as well to get a 97 that was built in 1995.

I understand that but I'm picturing the 97 in my head. Standing tall and thin, with ugly body lines whereas my buddy's 01 seems to be boxier and taller.

Nope. The 97 and 98 model was slightly different grill and bumper. but the body is the same as 99-03. I had an early model 97. Herbs knows this. It excepted all aftermarket headlights. And I swap the 97 bumper out and the new bumper in to make look like a lightning.

Yup Blair is right. I had a 00 just like Blair's 97 with the Lightning front end. The body is all the same, only difference was the the grille, foglights and bumper/valance.

ok cool, I find in the first pic the lights and grill are sooo small...lol, it looks funny but the second is pretty decent. With an aftermarket grill and perhaps a push bar, it would look sweet. Thanks for the info guys.
What would be the average going price of say an 00-02.
