2015 Hennessey VelociRaptor

http://www.autoblog.com/2014/12/16/2...f150-official/

"Ford is rumored to possibly debut a new F-150 Raptor at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show in January, but whether that's the case or not, Hennessey Performance is ready to fill the muscle truck niche now with its latest VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged based on the 2015 F-150.

The fantastically named VelociRaptor package has been available on the regular Raptor for the past few years, taking power up to 600 horsepower or more, depending on what the buyer desired. With the latest one, the performance truck is now based on the aluminum-bodied F-150, specifically the FX4 Super Crew model with the 5.0-liter V8....

Raptor wanna-be, cashing in on the name recognition built by SVT.

I applaud their business sense to put it out there to fill a void Ford left in the market, but it ain't no Raptor.

VelociRaptor? No. Velociraptor? Maybe. lol

Not a terrible offering though, the LED light bar is a little over the top, but they mimicked the running boards and front skid plate pretty close.

At $73,500US, it's not really that far off from the upper end Platinums and KR's, and the forced induction is interesting.

Pretty sure 73k is on top of the price of the truck that you need to supply.

Prices for the VelociRaptor start at $73,500, which includes the donor F-150, and orders are open now. Actual deliveries should start by March at the latest, according to Hennessey. The company also plans to offer a similar package for EcoBoost F-150s later.
Not the way I read it.

that's what I thought too but that's not how it reads in the link.
seems unbelievably cheap?
not sure cheap is the right word though.

I wonder if we'll hear their plans for the recently patented 'EcoBeast' moniker at the NAIAS in Detroit. Can't say I'm a huge fan of the term...but I guess they have to do something to bridge the concept of performance and environmentally friendly.

I've seen postings that Ford patented the "Ecobeast" moniker......Jesus wept.

I don't know about bridging the gap between the concept of performance and environmentally friendly, but they have tunnelled a connection between cheesy and tacky.

Ecobeast. Oh puh-lease. I pray they never put an Ecobeast in a Raptor.

Now the 5.2L out of the GT350 (500+hp)...there's environmentally friendly.

Meh, lots of debate on whatever F150 site you go to, still glad I got while the getting was good.

Do you mean the 5.2 is out for 2016, or the 6.2 is out for 2016?

6.2 I knew about, 5.2 was my wishlist. lol

Concept Photoshop I'm guessing here....

Then again, that one's just another tired Photoshop like the 2016 Bronco, just add Raptor styling cues and take your choice
