10 speeds is insane. Shift, shift, shift, shift

Makes my 4 speed with OD even more of a dinosaur.

Garage
Better half says, "6 more things to go wrong over a 4 speed." And since it was a joint venture between Ford and Gm, "Why not shoot it in the head and call it a Toyota."

I'm in agreement. And not because she's my better half. 10 speeds are needed in a Mack, Kenworth and the like. Not a half ton pickup. Why not return to the days of competent drivers behind the wheel. I have 5 gears and at least 190hp. It pulls the boat just fine and stops pretty good, too.

I don't think its a bad thing.

Even driving my dad's 2011 with a 6 speed makes me wish my truck had those couple extra gears.

The ratio's will be so close you'll likely hardly notice shifts. 3 of the gears are OD gears.

Don't necessarily agree with the 10 speed being available with the 3.5 only though.

Our dodge 8spd I can't feel any but 1-2 shift on hard accelerate. If I put in manual mode and downshift I can see on tach but that's it.

I think its great for fuel efficiency. And will hopefully be smooth enough wont even feel it. Too bad its not available on other engine options though. Wish the Auto Start/Stop was avail on other models than the 2.7 as well.
