Ford, chevy and dodge need to make alot of cuts with some vehicles. They need Flagship models. 3-5 models that have sold consistently over time.. get rid of the rest of the gimicks. they are not making any money. Chevrolet, GMC, Pontiac, oldsmobile, saturn, cadillac etc. need to be reduced to jut Chevrolet and Cadillac.

Ford, mercury, Lincoln, mazda etc.. need to be reduced to Ford and Lincoln.. And Only Dodge and jeep need to exist as well. Then the automakers would not be hurting so much.

i think it would be hard for ford to get down to 3-5 vehicles. the 150, 250,350, ranger, mustang, expedition, escape, explorer are all flagships to me...never mind all the popular cars to. People want change and new ideas. you don't know if something's gonna fail till you build it.

in my mind the 150, 250, 250 is considered 1 of 5 to me.. you still need your half tons 3/4 tons, and 1 ton trucks.. always will.. but look at honda and toyota and nissan and all the imports.. how many new cars have they introduced in the past 20 years? 5-6.. they have there flagship models, the |Civics, the accords etcc.. the same cars that have sold well for years and years, and they have o0nly updated those models.. the big three figure they have to introduce a new model every 2-3 years instead off just updating what they already have and building upon that. and thats what is hurting them the most.

I think GM is going to be in the worst shape for cutting. Their lineup of vehicles is HUGE. As was said they need to cut down on the other brands. And i would have to agree with havign the companies just getting to redesigning and updating models instead of launching whole new models only to have them flop, look at the five hundred, they ended up just going back to the taurus nameplate because its recognized.

I think that Henry Ford had the right idea when he said, "you can have any colour as long as it's bock". Possibly this thought process should be reinstated with regardss to the model line up, and colour selection for that matter.

The saddest part was that the 500/Taurus & Montego/Sable were some of the best fullsize sedan on the market...

Keep Ford trucks and axe everything else on the market - then its all good!

Well, I honestly have to say if Toyota started making real compact trucks again those could stay too.. sorry, I'm a sucker for them older Toys (especially the '85s with a real front axle and EFI). LR
