What's the point if you can't wrap it around a tree?

I have never ran into that before, if you have emmisions testing where you are( not sure where Stewart is) you may have to.

One rule i've heard is that the engine going in must be of the same year or newer...but this could only apply to the states. i did a quick search and couldn't find anything on B.C.'s laws in that subject. hopefully this swap won't go for not...if you can't register/get insurance for it. Good luck.

thanx for the reply stainless,i don't think i should have any problem then there's no emmisions law in northwestern b.c. as far as i know and if it did i don't think i would have any problem if i transfer everything over from the diesel truck, the only reason i'm doing this switch is that the exteded cabs frame is completly rotted through at the back end and the single cab frame is in much better shape except the cab is in need of a little repair,i was just curious about going to get insurence cause the engine type is going to different then the previous owner.

as long as the engine is newer then the vehicle and you have all appropriate emissions equipment there isn't much problem in ontario anyways. if you require an emissions test down the road you can have it tested as a hot rod vehicle as well, which gives it much more lax limits to hit. thats how i passed my old 2.5L civic!

Not sure if the frames are much different between gas and diesel trucks...if your interested I have a frame from an '86 diesel F-250 (reg cab, long box). You just have to come and pick it up...no charge.
